M & A's Just Do Not Stop: What would Sun Tzu say?

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Here you go! Just three more mergers, acquisitions and lets not forget the most adverse strategy: Hostile Takeover! I promise to talk about the Hostile Takeover Strategy in a separate entry.
My feeling if Sun Tzu were a management consultant on assignment he would tell his client:
"Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.
When you are ignorant of the enemy but know yourself , your chances of winning or losing are equal.
If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself , your are certain in every battle to be in peril."
In today's market, every corporation, large or small must know themselves and be aware of all threats.
The global market has removed all boundaries in the market place.
As Vito Corleone said "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer!"
